Always in Bloom

Here is part 2 of the showcase of Stampin Up’s wheels (check out part 1 here!).

I wanted to show Stampin Up’s wheels in a variety of different projects, so I decided to use the stamps from the Always set (one of my faves!) with the co-ordinating Always in Bloom wheel to create a card and an 8″ x 8″ scrapbook page.

Here’s my card using the bird from the Always set with the Sweet Always DSP and taking the colours from the papers:

Here’s my matching 8″ x 8″ scrapbook page using the heart from the Always set with the Sweet Always DSP and Always in Bloom wheel:

Always 8 x8

I coloured the heart with markers and also added some buttons to the top corner!

I also made a 3D project to show that the wheels can be used for cards, scrapbooking or 3D projects. Here is my large pillow box using the So Swirly wheel with the Fifth Avenue Floral & Best Yet stamps:

Rose Giftbox

As you can see, Stampin Up’s wheels are very versatile! They are a great way to add to your projects and they are easy to use and very inexpensive!

Baby Boy Bundle of Joy

I always enjoy making baby cards… they’re just so cute! It’s up there with shopping for baby clothes and having lots of cuddles with new little bundles of joy! I’ve had a few close friends have babies recently so I’ve had fun creating and cuddling!

So I had a lot of fun making this baby boy card and scrapbooking page! I demonstrated this at a recent workshop as my hostess wanted to see the wheels “in motion”! I wanted to show how Stampin Up’s wheels are so versatile – they’re fantastic for cards, scrapbooking or 3D projects!

I used the Nursery Letters Jumbo Wheel and the Nursery Necessities stamp set to make this cute little boys card and an 8″ x 8″  scrapbook page using the same colours and products.

Here is the card, which would be perfect for a newborn, or you could change the sentiment and use it for a little boys birthday card:

Baby boy card

I love the look of the Baja Breeze & Pacific Point blues with the Kraft and Chocolate Chip browns – just so boyish!

Then I made a co-ordinating scrapbook page whcih used the same Nursery Necessities stamps as above and the Nursery Letters wheel. I also showed how versatile the wheel was by using the letters from the wheel to form my word! I wanted to make the word boy, so I used the “b” and the “y” from the Nursery Letter wheel (wheeled onto scrap page and cut out). The “o” was a lot smaller than the other letters, so I decided to use a button instead to finish off the word. What do you think?

I haven’t done a lot of scrapbooking, but I’m quite happy with how this page turned out! I think it looks quite cute!

I also used another stamp set and co-ordinating wheel for a different card & scrapbook project, so I’ll show you those tomorrow!

A little bit of Scrapbooking!

I haven’t done a lot of scrapbooking in the past, as I have mainly been a cardmaker and scrapbooking has been a little scary for me! I thought I’d try my hand at a little scrapbooking recently when I did a workshop with a scrapbooker and she wanted to see how the stamps flowed from cardmaking to scrapbooking.

I decided to make a couple different sized pages to show how using one stampset and a colour palette could be used for a variety of different projects.

I chose Fifth Avenue Floral and used the colour palette from the Urban Oasis DSP. Here is my 6″ x 6″ scrapbook page:

6 x 6 Fifth Ave

Here is my 8″ x 8″ scrapbook page:

8 x 8 Fifth Ave

The 12″ x 12″ page I showed was the one we made at out last Team Day that I posted here.

What do you think of my scrapbooking attempts?!

As a side note – check out my lovely watermark from Karen Giron! Love that butterfly! She has fantastic watermarks available for sale on her website. Thanks, Karen!

‘A Klass Act’ Team Day!

Saturday was our Team Day for Sarah Klass’ team – ‘A Klass Act’. It was a fantastic day catching up with others in the team, exchanging ideas and card swaps and doing some stamping together! I’ve got plenty of things to show you from the day, but thought I’d start with the projects that we made!

This is the first project I made which was designed by Chantell and is a very cool 3D project! It took a little bit of time, but was really simple to make and you could easily adapt it with many different stamps or designs. I’ve put a couple of photos on so you can see what it looks like! It starts as a box and when you take the lid off and unfold it, it becomes a piece of card 9″ x 9″ with a message inside! How cool is that!?Flower Box

The next project I completed was a 12″ x 12′ scrapbooking page using my current fave – Fifth Avenue Floral!! Sarah designed this page and this is also one of her current fave sets! It was such a simple design that was really easy to re-create, but it looks nice and looks more difficult than it is! I haven’t added photos to it yet, but have a few in mind – just have to get them printed to the size I need!

Fifth Ave Scrapbooking

The last project I made was a technique card designed by Jaz using white craft ink and the Stampin’ Pastels. You simply stamp the image on black card using your white craft ink, and then sponge the pastel chalk on top and the white ink collects the chalk powder! It was a great technique to try, though I think mine came out a bit more smudged than it should be! I might have to practise this one a bit more!!

Wonderful Ocean Friends

The last thing I wanted to show you was a gorgeous little present that I received from Sarah for promoting during the last few months! Sarah knows I love the Fifth Avenue Floral set, and she made me this gorgeous box using the Urban Oasis paper (with Fifth Ave images):

Present Box

and then when I opened it… I found this gorgeous keyring inside!! I love it! I have a few funky keyrings on my keys (actually more keyring decorations than actual keys!!) and this will go perfectly! Thanks Sarah!!

Stampin Up! Keyring

All up, it was a fantastic day! I also made some swaps and managed to pick up some amazing card designs in return, so I’ll be back to share those with you soon!
