Farewell to the Spring Mini!

I have been trying to do some last minute creating with the products from the Spring Mini…. before they disappear in 2 days!

I had some ideas for making some gift bags using Keesh’s template (again!) with the gorgeous Parisian Breeze DSP filled with some yummy choccies for some thankyou gifts for school. I wanted a slightly bigger giftbag, so I adjusted the template slightly! The front and back are 20 x 15cm and the inside box is bigger as well. This way I can fit even more goodies inside!

This is the bag (before it is filled with choccies):

I paired it with a Great Friend butterfly, some Chocolate Chip ribbon and some Hemp Twine. I also used the wonderful, new 1 3/4″ Circle Punch to create a tag for the butterfly – this is available in 2 days from the new Summer Mini! I also punched some contrasting DSP with the Eyelet Border Punch to add some more decoration.

Last chance to order your goodies from the Spring Mini!

Christmas Giftbag

I made a giftbag a little while ago for a lovely hostess who had a Christmas Card Class at her house (hi Kristie!!). It was a great time of chatting and stamping, and I wanted to make a special something as a thankyou!

I used Keesh’s tutorial to make this project and it was very easy and I really like how it turned out:

Christmas giftbag1

This is the giftbag with the choccies taken out – you can see that you can fit quite a few in there!

Christmas giftbag2

I can’t even really post a recipe for this because everything was made using the I Wish Scrapbook Kit – no stamps, no ink, just yummy papers and easy-peasy diecuts (I just added the Chocolate Chip ribbon and the chocolates!)!

I LOVE this I Wish kit and it makes Christmas preparations so easy! You can make so many cards, tags, gifts and projects with this one kit! Plus if you add some more cardstock and maybe even a stamp set as well, you could make ALL your Christmas cards! A lot of my customers have been buying this lately because it makes creating so much easier, especially if you don’t have many supplies already.

If you would like to get this kit for yourself, or other Christmas supplies, then call or email me to place your order soon, so you have plenty of time to get creating before Christmas rolls around!

Happy Christmas creating!

Another Watercolour Rose Box

I made another box which had a watercolour rose on the top, similar to this one shown in my last post!

This box was a little different as it was a bit taller and had two separate pieces. Here it is:

Watercolour Rose Box 2

Here it is from a different angle:

Watercolour Rose Box 2

I actually forgot to take a photo of the inside, with the lid off and I gave it away as a door prize gift with some choccies in it, so I can’t take another photo! I might just have to make some more now!

I made the template after wanting a slightly taller box to my last one. I took 2 squares of different coloured card (I used Regal Rose for the bottom and Rose Red for the top). This design makes a box of 3″ x 3″.

For the base, you need a square of 8″ x 8″. Score in 2.5″ from each edge (on all 4 sides), so you have a 3″ x 3″ square in the middle. Cut one line of each corner, so you can fold it up to be a tall box and glue it together.

For the separate lid, you need a square of 6″ x 6″. Score in 3.7cm (1 7/16″?) from each edge
(on all 4 sides) so that you get a square in the middle that is just a little bit bigger than 3″ x 3″. This is so that the lid is bigger than the base. Then I punched all the edges with the scallop edge punch, cut one line of each corner and folded it up and glued it to form the lid.

Then you can decorate with some ribbon, some DSP and any other embellishments that you like! For this box, I made a watercolour rose using Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Rose Red inks. Then I added some Raspberry Tart DSP, and tied some Kiwi Kiss/ Very Vanilla satin ribbon round the edges of the lid, and finished it with a bow at the front!

Watercolour Rose Box

I have been having lots of fun making watercolour roses with the embossing technique and have been adding them to different projects! This one below was a “pizza box” style project with a rose added to the top, popped up on a piece of matching DSP and ribbon.

 Watercolour Rose Box

This is the top of the box with the Raspberry Tart DSP and Kiwi Kiss striped ribbon:

I have had some ladies at my workshops asking about the instructions to make this box, so thought I would include them here. I found a template online, but it wasn’t quite the size I wanted, so I kind of adapted it and made my own!

To make this box (which is a 4″ x 4″ size), I just used a piece of card that was 11″ x 6″. Then score the card at 1 inch down each of the long sides. Then you score the other side at 1″, 5″, 6″ and 10″. You will end up with a 1″ border around all sides, a 1″section in the middle and two squares of 4 x 4″. One of those squares is the bottom tray of the pizza box, and the other is the top. Cut one line of each corner on the bottom tray and then fold together and glue to make a box. On the top half, I have cut the two lines on each corner out to leave each flap free and then rounded the corners.

Here is a picture of the inside:

Hope those instructions make sense – let me know if you have any hassles!

A Pretty Little Purse!

I found a new purse/ handbag design that I wanted to try out and I used it recently for a little door prize gift! This design was found on the very talented Keesh’s blog and she even has a fantastic tutorial in case you want to have a go at making one yourself!

This was pretty simple to follow and fun to make and I think they look really pretty!

I made one design using Almost Amethyst cardstock and Tea Party DSP with a little Pretty in Pink striped ribbon:

Tea Party Handbag

To make the scallop circle image in the centre, I just cut out one of the flowers from the DSP, mounted it on a 1 3/8″ punched circle of Pretty in Pink and then put that on an Almost Amethyst scallop circle! Add a velcro dot to seal the purse and you are all ready to go!

Here’s the inside – perfect for some notecards or a chocolate bar or a little present!

I also made one using the Bella Rose DSP with some Riding Hood Red cardstock and some Riding Hood Red striped ribbon:

Bella Rose Purse

This also uses the Best Yet stamp set for the front sentiment. Here’s the inside:

Embrace Life Matchbox

I really love making little gifts for my hostesses and have fun trying out new designs and templates! I made this matchbox style box for a hostess recently and then made some little cards (about 4″ x 4″) to go inside.

Embrace Life Matchbox

I used the Embrace Life stamp set with a gorgeous colour combo of Rose Red, Regal Rose & Sage Shadow. I showed the ladies how easy it is to use markers to draw directly on to the stamps and also how you can personalise sentiments by colouring the words in different colours with the markers.

Here are the cards I made for the inside:

Embrace Blossoms

 Embrace Rosebuds

Embrace Blooms

I made 2 of each of these designs and then popped them all inside the box for a nice little gift! This is a nice and easy box to make and can be easily duplicated for any size of card or present to put inside!

If you would like to get some hostess gifts for yourself and also score yourself some free products (anyone’s wishlist getting rather long?!), just contact me to  book a workshop!

Plus, get in quick to book your workshop for August and be the first to see and use our new products from our new Spring Mini catalogue! (I’ve seen it and there are some amazing products in there! My pre-order is on its way to me at the moment so I’ll start showing you some sneak peeks soon!)

More Trendy Trees

I needed some thank you cards for some wonderful people who helped at school recently, so decided to use Trendy Trees. It was a great stamp set to use to make up multiple cards and also to make cards that were for males & females.

I made a few simple mini thank you cards  that were given with some chocolates but I also needed some cards with a gift card holder section for some people who had done a HUGE amount of work to help out!

I used the template I had found previously for this birthday card to make the gift card holders. I made some with Old Olive & Certainly Celery trees and Chocolate Chip bases and used these colours with a little So Saffron for the rest of the card.

Here’s the inside: (I accidently put this one together with the gift card flap at the top – but that kind of worked because it meant the writing was on the bottom half of the card where it would normally be. It means you can choose anyway!)

Card folder inside

I also made some trees that were more Autumn looking using some markers and a bit of the rock n roll technique! I painted the tree tops using the Summer Sun (in the centre) & Pumpkin Pie markers and then rock n rolled the edges onto a Ruby Red inkpad to get nice autumnal colours!

Here’s the inside of this one!

I enjoyed playing around with the Trendy Trees set using different colours, and I’ve seen lots of different combo colours around. Might have to play some more…!!!
