Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #28

I needed a birthday card for a friend recently, so I decided to use Karen’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge to create a birthday card!

SSSC28The card was for a close friend of mine, but I wanted something that wasn’t too flowery, so the circles and stripes layout worked perfectly! I decided to use the cake from Big Bold Birthday (always very cute!) as my main image:

Birthday Cake Card

I used Washington Apple DSP, and took the colour pallete from this – Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron and Bashful Blue. I added some Red Riding Hood striped ribbon and some little half pearls for extra accents! I worked with the circle layout idea and traced around a jar to get the big circle, then used my circle punches to make the circle around the sentiment.
