Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #18

February 7, 2010 at 5:19 pm 5 comments

My second sketch challenge creation in one day! I’m on a roll! (Check out my other sketch challenge card for Just Add Ink here)

This card was created using Keesh’s Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #18:

This is a nice big card (using a full A4 sheet) and I used the Urban Garden DSP and took the colours from the DSP as my colour combo – Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Basic Grey & Kiwi Kiss. I added some butterflies from the Butterfly Prints, punched out with my trusty Butterfly Punch from the Summer Mini (such an amazing punch – love it!!). I used the lovely Kiwi Kiss/ Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and some buttons from Bouquet Designer Buttons with some colour co-ordinated faux thread (you just use a sliver of cardstock – so easy and it just gives it the finishing touch!).

I love the words on these butterflies – love, happiness, delight, harmony, bliss, friendship, gladness, laugh etc. They make you smile just looking at them!

This card is going to the one of the girls at work who is having her birthday at the end of the week, so I’ll have to get it signed over the next few days so it is ready for her on the day! I have a few more birthdays coming up at work, so I will have to get busy and come back soon to show you some more big birthday cards!

“Urban Butterfly Wishes”

Paper: Baja Breeze, Basic Grey, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White
Ink: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss

Changing the size of your card base has worked really well with the scale of images you’ve used. Well done on getting the balance right with this. PS. For the longest time I was looking at the buttons and ribbon and wondering what was unusual about it. Just not used to seeing them on a larger card, lol.

LOVE this card – great job with the challenge! I was just thinking the other day that I need to get out those papers (been a bit neglected in my craft space lately); this is the perfect inspiration to do so!
